THE BRONZO

 

Panerai has a long successful history of creating iconic watches for underwater use with unique and distinctive characteristics. The Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo is one of these timepieces. Panerai recreated a time-weathered effect that gave every watch a unique look. The model has been released for the first time in 2011 and it is immediately became one of the most sought watch among Panerai enthusiasts. With the current model PAM 671 only 1000 pieces were produced and all sold within a blink of an eye.

 
 

 

BRONZE

 

The case, the bezel and the classic bridge protecting the crown are all made out of bronze. The bronze is very versatile alloy: it is beautiful and is highly resistant to the corrosive actions of sea water and atmospheric agents.

Bronze has a long history, it was so essential to human race, that even the whole age was named after it – The Bronze Age. Bronze is an alloy of 80 percent of copper and 20 percent of tin, that was used pretty much in anything: making a weaponry, tools, musical instruments, house hold items and pieces of art. With the passage of time bronze reacts to the outside elements and forms patina on it’s surface. The patina doesn’t alter the structural strength of the material, it’s just slows down the oxidation process. That gives each piece made out of bronze its own unique personality.

 
 

 

THE WATCH

 

The Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo is sports watch that is meant to be worn day in and day out. It features a very large case with diameter of 47 mm. It is water-resistant to the depth of 300 meters. The back of the case is made out of titanium and allows to see the Panerai calibre P.9010 movement.

The Dial is a rich blue color, which is creates a beautiful color combination with warm toned bronze case. The hands, the hour markers and the writing on the dial are closely matching the case. The seconds counter sub-dial is located at nine o’clock and the date counter is located symmetrically at three o’clock. The whole dial looks balanced and very well color coordinated.

The Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo comes with a brown alligator leather strap. Because buckle and the back of the case are coming in a direct contact with a wearer’s skin Panerai chose to use titanium, the material known for it’s hypoallergenic properties.

Inside of Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo is an automatic, mechanical calibre P. 9010 movement. It’s has been created and developed in the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. The power reserve that lasts for 3 days is stored in two spring barrels. Beautifully finished and precise movement has 200 components and is work of art.

 
 

 

TAKING CARE OF YOUR PANERAI LUMINOR

 

In order to keep the exterior in a perfect condition Panerai recommends washing the watch with a soap and warm water, using a soft brush. If your watch came in a contact with the sea water, just carefully rinse it with fresh water and dry with the soft, dry cloth.

Panerai straps should be washed in warm fresh water and left to dry in a shade. It is important not to place the wet strap on a hot surface or under the direct sun.
