Today is the day we’ve all been waiting for, the official start of Baselworld 2018. After yesterday’s monumental and polarizing announcements, we are primed for another exciting day in timepiece history. Today we continue to see innovation and craftsmanship from top brands. Here are just a few of our favorites from day two.
Laurent Ferrier
Known for elegance and clean designs, the Galet Minute Repeater is anything but uncomplicated. The first-minute repeater ever crafted by Laurent Ferrier stuns with a beautiful salmon dial and brilliantly engineered movements. The stainless steel case was chosen to enhance the acoustics of its signature tone and let this watch literally sing, we can’t wait to hear it.
Patek Philippe
Patek Philippe continues to impress today with three distinct timepieces.
The 5270P Perpetual Calendar Chronograph is sure to be a classic. The salmon dial encased in platinum takes this benchmark timepiece to another level of wearability and style.
The 7150R Chronograph marks yet another beautiful women’s watch from Patek Philippe. The diamond-laden bezel encircles expertly crafted and iconic complications. This elegant timepiece is perfectly sized to make a statement.
The 5531R World Time Minute Repeater New York 2017 Special Edition is the Patek Philippe that steals the show today. This brilliant timepiece is the pinnacle of luxury and the first of its kind. This revolutionary movement chimes local time wherever you are because it is driven continuously by the time zone wheel of the world time mechanism. A huge mechanical feat that is not lost amongst the many complications, nor behind the Cloisonnè enamel dial depicting the New York Skyline. The 5531R will certainly go down in the history books.
Tudor
Tudor revealed the Heritage Black Bay Fifty-Eight today. This piece not only pushes the envelope but also opens the door for those who yearn for a smaller sports watch. This bold timepiece features a 39mm case and iconic in-house movement. We’re sure that this piece will have a wide appeal and will become very popular in the years to come.
We can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds for Baselworld 2018.
