Baselworld 2018 Kicks off with Many Major Releases

Baselworld is the pinnacle of luxury timepieces. Every year each major brand reveals impressive designs that excite the senses and set the stage for what’s to come. Some brands keep it safe, while others surprise even seasoned enthusiasts. Baselworld 2018 will be no different. With one day to go until the official commencement, some of the most recognized brands have already revealed their collections. Here are a few of our favorite announcements of Baselworld 2018.  

Rolex

Rolex Pepsi

Rolex surprised everyone again this year with the release of the “Pepsi” GMT-Master II Jubilee. Evocative of the first GMT-Master II created in 1955, this watch wasn’t what anyone was expecting but is certainly making waves.

Two “Root Beer” GMT-Master II’s hit the scene this morning as well. One, in 18ct Everose gold with a two-color Cerachrom insert in black and brown ceramic. The other, Everose Rolesor with a graduated 24-hour, two-color Cerachrom insert also in black and brown.  Both iconic and elegant timepieces.

The final Rolex we’re very excited about is the New Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona in 18ct Everose gold, adorned in 36 baguette-cut, rainbow sapphires on the bezel. This watch is sure to be a classic.

Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe always amazes at Baselworld. In 2018, they’ve released a bold Aquanaut Chronograph with orange accents that is sure to be a hit.

They’ve also introduced a dynamic and elegant Nautilus Perpetual Calendar that features a new complication that includes, month, day, date, leap year, moonphase, and 24-hour cycle. A classic yet innovative piece sure to turn heads.

Omega

Omega’s exciting timepiece this year is the Speedmaster Apollo 11. This watch commemorates the 45th anniversary of the of the Apollo 11 mission in which the Omega Speedmaster was historically taken to the moon by Buzz Aldrin.
